When the World Shakes: A Poem

When the world shakes, we must breathe,

Turbulent tides may test our core, yet in gentle exhales, we find much more.

A foundation trembling under our feet,

Where daunting quakes and existence meet,

Yet in every breath, an anchorage lies,

In the tranquil harbor of closing eyes.

Inhale, the rustling leaves converse,

Exhale, the burdens that cling to the soul,

In each breath out, we edge toward the whole

The stillness found in every release, crafts a momentary, yet potent, peace.

When the world shakes, fierce and wild,

Breathe, tenderly, like a soothing to a child,

For in the spaces where silence resides, A resilient, quiet strength abides.

The tumultuous times may quake and roar,

Yet soft breaths guide us to the shore,

Where amidst the storms that fiercely weave, we find a gentle power, simply to breathe.

For breath is the whisper of life, undeterred,

An unspoken promise, consistently heard,

Through every trial, in each space we grieve, lies a silent strength: the power to breathe.

Inhale, exhale, find steadiness flowing, a breath of life,

When the world shakes, in our breaths, believe,

For in every gentle exhale, we find reprieve.

Breathing in, I am breathing in, breathing out, I am breathing out

Peace
