Rome wasn't built in a day--and this article speaks to first step that must be taken to mend this gap in the lived experience of most workers in the US-I would only add that its not just inflation but what at least feels like uncontrolled capitalism in the US. So many examples of workers telling their employers how they care for their work and yet are not shown trust--I have a PhD and work as a professor, all done at a distance-- and still they try to micromanage--it has terrible structural and systematic impact to the organization and then relationships between people in the organization. Such small ways to position leadership and power, allowing just a bit of autonomy to their under paid employees--so frustrating--as a parent to a small child, I am just overwhelmed with the idea of leaving the country in this mess.
