Poem for Peace

My body aches

The sorrow swallows my being whole

My genes quiver

Will we ever feel whole?

Freedom for all is the only cure

Bound by the barbed wire of war

This too is who we are

As it is war against the self

Separation is the story

The narrator creates the whole

An inward journey

Breathing in, breathing out

The revolution must begin from within
